More than 700 pledged delegates have told The Associated Press or announced that they plan to support Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention. That is over one-third of the pledged delegates she needs in order to clinch the nomination.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is dropping out of the 2024 race throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris, the party’s instant favorite for the nomination at its August convention in Chicago. Many Democrats say his is among the most consequential in a lifetime because of Trump’s plans for a dramatic government overhaul formed around his grievances.
