Veteran producer and keyboardist George Duke will be performing for four nights at The Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley.
Duke is touring in support of his latest album "Dukey Treats." The album includes a number of diverse tracks, from the up tempo "Everyday Hero" – praising everyday people that make differences in everyone's lives – to the heartbreaking "Sudan (It's a Cryin' Shame)."
Although the guests on the live performances haven't yet been announced, Duke's album line-up includes veterans of the music industry including percussionist Sheila E, bassist Christian McBride, trumpeter Michael "Patches" Stuart and singers Jonathan Butler and Teena Marie.
Duke also recently worked with Jill Scott on "Whenever You're Around."
Dimitriou's describes "Dukey Treats" as "a careful balance of rhythmic energy and simmering balladry. 'Dukey Treats' recalls the golden age of funk and soul, while at the same time maintaining a fresh sound and addressing issues that are relevant to the global culture of the 21st century."
Beginning March 26, show times are 7:30 and 9:30 Thursday through Saturday and Sunday at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6pm on Thursday and 5:30pm Friday – Sunday. Tickets are $26.50. Dimitriou's Jazz Alley is located at 2033 6th Ave., Seattle.
