The Umoja Fest African American Day Parade is Saturday, Aug. 2 at noon, taking off from 23rd Avenue and traveling south on 23rd to Judkins St. 
The African American Day Parade features drill teams from across the state and the return of the NW Hip-Hop Culture Float and parade troupe presented by 206 Zulu and many other exciting entries.
Following the parade will be the Classics & Customs Car Show and the Hip-Hop Live Stage featuring two days of performances by Phashara (LA), D. Labrie (Oakland), Block Teamsters Union (Parker Bros, I-Gang, Black Senate, J-Mar and G-Khan), 206 Zulu, Razpy, M-Famous, Decurrian, Gloria Medina, M.Famous, Amp Fire, 2 Mil & BG Mike, Spaceman/Sport-N-Life, Wojack, Merm & Maal, Ayo, and B-Awake.
 Soul songstress and femcee Amanda Diva (Floetry/MTV/VH1) headlines the Umoja Fest Soul Of The City Awards presented by the Hip-Hop Coffee Shop at Judkins Park following the parade. 
Diva will be joined by Dredi, Zach Bruce, Ryan "Slym" Anderson, Khmet and artists from the Third Level Events Sol Lounge including Darrius Wilrich, Dwayne D'Arby, Tiffany Wilson, Portia, Adrian Simms, Elisha Myers, Fidelity, Marrisa Garrett, Shuntarae, Ashanti, Verbal Oasis, Sean Good and DJ K.I.M.
 Friday kicks off the festival with Children's Day at 10 am featuring over twenty fun and educational activities for children followed by the Hip-Hop Youth Empowerment Rally organized by the Hip-Hop Think Tank and featuring youth speakers and performers.
Other Umoja Fest attractions include the Heal The Hood AAU Basketball Tournament.  Inspired by the legendary Rucker Tournament based in Harlem, New York, the tournament will feature some of the Northwest's top high school athletes, competing to promote alternatives to the violence plaguing neighborhoods. The tournament will feature teams from across the state including the Rotary Styles.
Members of the Seattle King County NAACP need more volunteers at the Fest, one of the oldest and largest African Heritage Festivals in the Northwest.
The group is hosting a table to register voters, sign up new members, and inform the community about upcoming events.
