Highway 99 Plan Scheduled

Vancouver, WA – A major effort to plan for Highway 99 and points east will be the focus of neighborhood meetings and tours beginning Sept. 12, in preparation for an all-day community design forum on Sept. 27.
Clark County planners will meet with neighborhoods to present an overview of the current effort to build on previous work by creating an official "sub area plan" for areas between Northeast 63rd and 134th streets, Highway 99 and the BPA right of way, as follows:
• Sept. 12, 7 p.m., Pleasant Valley, Pleasant Valley Middle School, 14320 NE 50th Ave.
• Sept. 13, 7 p.m., Fairgrounds, Southridge Community Church of Christ, 400 NE 179th St.
• Sept. 18, 7 p.m., Northeast Hazel Dell, Clark County Public Works/Operations,  4700 NE 78th St.
• Sept. 19, 6:30 p.m., West Hazel Dell, Clearwater Springs (Fireplace Room), 201 NW 78th St.
In addition, on September 20 and 21, county planners will lead 90-minute van tours starting at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day, leaving from the Starbucks parking area at 78th Street and Highway 99. 
The tours will include historic sites as well as residential and commercial areas, with a view to helping participants prepare for the community design forum on Sept. 27. These activities are part of an effort to create a formal plan with a vision for the area, design standards, zoning, and improvements projected for the next six years.
