On Saturday, June 29, Open Signal invites community members to mingle and explore the wide range of creative opportunities in nonfiction media, connect with local professionals, and launch their ideas.

Real to Reel will showcase the collaborative spirit of Portland’s community of nonfiction media makers. This city is full of independent production companies and freelance creators working in advocacy, broadcast, documentary, event, sports, journalism, and many other fields of content creation. 

This event features:

  • A hands-on workshop series on filming interviews from Devin Boss and Adam Kachman featuring Abibat Durosimi;
  • A casting call for Sneaker Week 2024 models;
  • Keynote presentations from Rose SolomonRaina Page, and Chad Brown;
  • A takeover of our parking lot by Creatives of Color Oregon Collective;
  • A screening room and networking lounge;
  • And a waffle bar with refreshments.

This event is for established, emerging, and exploring media makers. Admission is free with donations accepted. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Real to Reel will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at Open Signal, 2766 NE MLK Jr. Blvd.
