An announcement that American Home Mortgage has joined the Making Home Affordable Program has prompted ACORN to claim victory in its 'Home Wrecker Four' campaign.
The campaign aims to pressure four major mortgage companies to sign on to President Obama's \"Making Home Affordable" program to prevent 4 million foreclosures by modifying unaffordable mortgages to affordable terms.
ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said in a statement: \"ACORN is very pleased with the successes achieved since the June 30, 2009 launch of our 'Home Wrecker Four' campaign. With American Home Mortgage's announcement that it will join President Obama's Making Home Affordable program along with OneWest earlier this month, more foreclosures will be averted and fewer families displaced. ACORN will remain vigilant in its efforts to insure that all mortgage servicers join Obama's program and until then, the newly dubbed 'Home Wrecker Two' campaign will continue to take action until our goals are achieved."
