The family of missing teenager Yashawnee Vaughn will be holding a flier distribution activity at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at Holladay Park near the Lloyd Center.
The family will be distributing new fliers with pictures of both Vaughn, 14, and Parrish Bennette, 16, who is currently being charged with murder in her death. Previous searches for evidence of Vaughn's body in Rocky Butte Park and other areas near Bennette's address have proved fruitless for law enforcement.
In an interview last week, Vaughn's grandmother Reynelda Hayes, said they are hoping someone with information regarding the whereabouts of Vaughn will come forward. CrimeStoppers (www.crimestoppersoforegon.com) is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to a significant break in the case.
The family will also be holding another candlelight vigil from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at the Bowling Alley across from Madison High School. The vigil will mark one month since Vaughn was last seen. You are encouraged to bring your own candle.
